There are some B-level curse words thrown around, but nothing more aggressive than you’d hear in the local pub on game day.īut officially, Star Trek Beyond uses words like “horses**t,” “damn,” and “hell” generously.įor the most part, 13 is the exact age when words like that become part of their vernacular, but fortunately, you won’t find the big F-word anywhere in this movie. If you and your kids survived the gratuitous Alice Eve bra scene or Chris Pine’s ridiculous bedroom scene in Star Trek Into Darkness, you’ll be just fine for this one. In another scene, the bedroom antics are more implied as we’re shown a brief moment where a shirtless dude is being shoved out of his partners cabin. However, in true Vulcan fashion, they only share a kiss on the cheek. If you’ve seen the first two films of the reboot franchise, then you’re well aware of the relationship between two of its main characters. Of course, parents, you should know that like many major blockbusters, the movie thrives on its action sequences, but I’m going to break down exactly what you can expect down below. Having seen the film, I’m going to be as up front about as many details (with as few spoilers) possible and allow parents to decide for themselves if they want to go Beyond or maybe give Finding Dory a/another swim, or even The Secret Life of Pets.
